Redefining the Status Quo to Reveal True Cardiovascular Risk

While a Framingham or similar score is recommended as the basic risk assessment for asymptomatic adult patients, additional risk markers should also be used to improve risk assessment according to the American Heart Association. In particular, it is recommended that intermediate risk individuals need additional testing to further define risk status. With no specific treatment recommendations for this group, highly variable treatment approaches are used. So, many patients in this group may be under-treated.

Aviir introduces the TruRisk™ assessment to address this clinical need – the objective choice to assess cardiovascular risk in patients between 40 and 80 years old that are classified at intermediate risk by traditional risk factors. TruRisk is an exclusive, novel blood-based assessment that aids in further defining the intermediate risk patient group. The test objectively reclassifies those patients that are actually high risk with an absolute 5-year risk score.
